17th May 2007

Broadhall Wharfedale, the joint venture between South Wales based property developers Broadhall and Richard Froggatt’s London and Wharfedale, has signed a £6.4 million deal with building contractor Stradform to develop plot A10 at SA1 Swansea Waterfront.

The new 40,219 sq ft high quality office development will be situated on Langdon Road, at the heart of SA1, and has been designed specifically with Small to Medium sized enterprises in mind.

A quarter of the development, which has been part funded by the Welsh Assembly Government, Welsh European Funding Office and HSBC bank, is already under offer.

The remaining units, of between 2,475 – 4,845 sq ft, are available to let with some purchase opportunities. Work on site will begin on 21 May and is due to be completed in May 2008.

Richard Froggatt, Chairman of London & Wharfedale, commented: “Twenty five percent of A10 is already under offer and we have received strong interest in the rest of the development. The building has been designed to BREEAM EXCELLENT. This is just the sort of scheme we set out to do. The end result will be a building in which we can all be justifiably proud.”

John Worrall, Stradform’s Managing Director, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract with Broadhall Wharfedale, which is testament to our reputation and expertise within the commercial sector. We intend to use recycled stone and timber which will reduce the environmental impact of the building and will help us to achieve a BREEAM EXCELLENT rating for the project.”

Michael Davies of Broadhall added: “Stradform was chosen on the basis of its excellent track record with similar projects and its ability to deliver.

“As we begin the first phase of this project, we move a step closer to delivering a superb working environment in the heart of Swansea’s commercial district.”
